Mode Of action
Toltrazuril induces changes in the fine structure of coccidian development stages that are mainly due to a swelling of the endoplasmatic reticulum and of the Golgi apparatus and to abnormalities in the peri-nuclear space, disturbances in nuclear division.
Toltrazuril leads to a reduction of enzymes of the respiratory chain of the parasites. The biochemical mode of action of toltrazuril which causes obstruction of the wallforming bodies of Eimerian macrogamonts can not be explained up to now.
Uses
For the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis.
